Noise Assessments

Noise pollution impacts both health and behavior. Unwanted sound can cause irritation, stress, hypertension, tinnitus, sleep disturbances, and even permanent hearing loss.

Hearing loss from noise pollution affects not only construction workers but also people in many other professions and everyday environments. Short-term exposure may cause temporary hearing issues, but long-term exposure to high noise levels can lead to irreversible damage. Hearing loss depends on both the loudness (decibel level) and the duration of exposure.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) each set guidelines to limit noise exposure and prevent hearing loss.

QUEST Environmental provides professional noise assessments to measure elevated noise levels, identify their sources, and develop strategies to control and prevent harmful exposure. Our team conducts site-specific evaluations for occupational and non-occupational settings, helping protect health, safety, and productivity.
