Project Highlight – Mixed-Use Commercial Unit Walkthrough Inspections

Project Description: Quality Environmental Services and Technologies (QUEST) performs annual visual inspections focused on building safety across more than 100 mixed-use commercial units in Aurora, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada. We have supported these properties for three consecutive years, beginning in 2023. These walkthrough inspections help protect building integrity and identify potentially harmful conditions that tenants or occupants may overlook. The units vary widely in size, use, and operation, including office spaces, warehouses, light industrial fabrication, and production facilities.

Site Inspections: During each inspection, QUEST conducts a comprehensive walkthrough of every commercial unit. Our consultants interview building staff and document observed conditions throughout the space. We evaluate key components such as flammable storage cabinets, hazardous waste areas, acid battery charging stations, fugitive moisture, damaged building materials, gas cylinder storage, air compressors, generators, and spray booths.

In addition, we use a standardized inspection checklist and photographic documentation to support clear reporting. For each tenant and unit, QUEST provides detailed findings and practical recommendations to improve building safety and compliance. The full inspection process typically spans three weeks and concludes with a consolidated report for review.

Conclusions: Throughout the project, QUEST works closely with property ownership to ensure that every unit receives a thorough evaluation. Our team consistently identifies hazards such as improper hazardous waste storage, damaged containers, gas cylinder issues, blocked electrical panels, and combustible dust concerns. As a result, property managers can address deficiencies proactively and reduce operational risk. By conducting these annual walkthrough inspections, the client strengthens safety oversight, improves compliance awareness, and minimizes potential liabilities.
